The first meeting with Osman (aka Argon) to quote for the job was a positive one. He seemed knowledgeable, explained the work that needed to be done, produced a quote that was reasonable and started the job within days of appointing Style Builders. I was asked to pay stage payments almost every other day and somehow all the work got done within a week or so. The standard of the work done was atrocious. Elements of the quote were completely ignored. Instead of removing a substandard supporting column, that was leftover ends of 3 intersecting walls 2 of which were removed, and rebuilding it with engineering bricks - as stated in his quote - it was lathered in mortar as-is, bowing, not tied together, nowhere near safe. You could still see the old insulation through gaps. The steel support that was put in as part of the quote was misaligned so the few bolts they could do were at angles, and only half the holes bolted. It was messily welded with plates instead, was not big enough as per current building regs (albeit was in-line with the original engineers calcs done in 2020, but you'd think he'd have told me the regs had changed) and, instead of properly redoing the blockwork above the steel, again patched it up with a mishmash of smaller bricks but mainly mortar. He (as in him or his team) put in a bit of flooring with atrocious workmanship - wonky joists with noggins that were all over the place and not flush. He used wood that had been onsite and on the floor for years and looks pretty ropey. He capped the ends of the groundfloor extension roof, one side was fine but the other the caps are clearly forced on at an angle and likely to come off given enough time. In his quote was a CCTV report of the drainage which I was repeatedly told had been done but I never saw the report. He reused the steel he removed above another section of the house but I was told it was new. When I confronted Osman with the unacceptable workmanship, I was gaslit and told it was fine, that building control were happy with it, that overlaying the bricks with mortar made them structurally stronger, that the floor put in was temporary etc and I naively paid the full balance but was uncomfortable with the excuses given. I got a friend around who had building experience who quickly made me realise how bad things were, so I reread the quote and saw how I'd been swindled. I quickly went about appointing a competent builder (and I must say the difference in the standard of work since has been night and day). At the next meeting to address the complaints we were making, Osman told my wife he would issue a refund of the final payment. That never happened. As we notified him his role in the project was coming to an end, he quickly abandoned the job and even took a few of our things (our extension cord, only £20 but it's the principle). He left a skip which I've had to pay to remove, scaffolding which is still there 3 months later and now holding up work on the house, and has ignored all reasonable efforts to draw a line under this with some form of partial refund. He's not responded to my emails, only puts me off over WhatsApp or on the phone (when he rarely answers). Anybody seeking to use Style Builders needs to be inspecting every tiny bit of work and checking it off against the quote given - and very careful about making payments only after checking. This is not a company you can trust. EDIT: within minutes of posting this review, I was contacted. After some consternation, the scaffolding finally got brought down. The scaffolders informed me they had only just been asked and fitted this in at short notice with an inflexible time slot, inconveniencing both them and us. The CCTV drainage people organised to come out, informing us they'd never done a report previously. In the weeks after the original review, I discovered the roof needs completely retiling after his work introduced leaks. None of the original work done by Style Builders remains in the final buid, but I have a £19k hole in my pocket from appointing them.

Style Builders have worked on several projects for us over a 5 year period. Their work has been consistently good & carried out diligently & professionally whilst always being available to solve problems as they've arisen.

*DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY* Usman comes across as a nice guy but once he starts the job, he lies, makes up random extras and forces you to pay way above the original quote. I had the misfortune to use them for a building project but never again.

I recently hired Style Builders for a large two-story side extension and a 6m extension to the back of my property in Wilmslow. From the very beginning, they were incredibly professional and collaborative, working closely with me on the planning process. Their team did an amazing job, not only with the extensions but also with fully redecorating a flat in Alderley Edge and a 4-bedroom house in Gorton for me - Just in the last 6 months. Their pricing was very reasonable, and even when I made changes to the plans, they were very accommodating. I had a very experience with Usman and the style builders team. They were all very nice and friendly and my house is amazing which took 7 months to finish. Which included a dormer and a complete new look to my house. Which was a bungalow the house still feels brand new after 3 years. I recommend this company to anyone.
