AP Builders completed our project at the end of 2025. The works comprised an internal reconfiguration to turn a dining room and kitchen into a single kitchen-diner, plus utility. We didn’t have the property extended but the job was still significant, with a number of internal walls removed (including a load bearing chimney breast), large steels installed, relocation of kitchen to the other side of the house and new external doors and windows added. We could not have been more delighted with the experience of working with AP. Jack and Paul were excellent in all respects - communicative, diligent, great attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship. We felt throughout like they genuinely cared about the project as much as we did. They listened carefully to our ideas, gave valuable input and sensible suggestions, and made sure we were happy with a clear plan once decisions had been made. They were both extremely considerate of our circumstances (a four month old baby when the works started!) and did everything they could to keep the project running smoothly, tidily and on time. We really found both Jack and Paul a pleasure to work with and their site team were brilliant too. A key difference between AP and other builders we’ve worked with in the past was the quality of communication. Both Jack and Paul were very responsive on text/call during the job. Most significantly, they have Nikki, who deals with all of the “office” work (that’s understating it!) including orders, scheduling and invoices. Nikki was our main point of contact over email and kept us up to date with the schedule and forthcoming works, sent us our invoices and account info, and answered all sorts of other queries throughout the job. Nikki was nothing short of superb - her communications were clear and prompt and she was always happy to help (even answering queries / sorting a logistics point whilst on holiday). Nikki is an absolute asset to the team and made our experience so positive. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend AP to family and friends (in fact we’ve done so already) and are extremely grateful to all the team for their hard work. The finished project is wonderful and we still can’t believe it’s our house! Thank you so much to the AP team.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company. They removed the orangery roof and built a new frame, creating an internal pitched ceiling that was boarded and plastered. They also installed new fascia boards and guttering, fitted a fully tiled roof, and added the extra electrical points needed. The lads arrived on time, finished exactly within the timeframe they said they would, and delivered workmanship of the highest quality. Everyone was friendly, tidy, professional and kept me completely updated throughout. I’m absolutely delighted with the result.

Went to A&P Builders for some advice on getting steelwork installed for a kitchen/living room extension. Responded straight away and came to give me a great quote and start date. The work completed was excellent and all rubbish was disposed of by A&P too so no stress at all. Would definitely recommend A&P Builders to anyone needing building works doing.

Although, having previously been reasonably competent DIYers, we decided that a kitchen renovation was a bit beyond our abilities so decided to get professionals involved. We didn’t know any builders, so asked a friend if they could recommend a building company, and they gave us the contact details for A & P Builders. We contacted A & P Builders and Jack came to discuss our requirements and give us a detailed quote for the works as discussed. We were happy to proceed so paid the booking fee and arranged a convenient start date for the job. Before the job started Jack came around again to measure up for materials, and to answer any questions we had. The job started on the date as agreed and there were no issues or delays. This was very helpful as I’d booked annual leave from work so we could go out and about and leave them to it so as not be around during the ‘demolition’ work. We left them keys so they could come and go as needed. We returned later that day to find that they’d removed all the kitchen units and old appliances, taken up the old flooring, and removed the ceilings, ready for the work to start the next day. Everything had been moved to the skip, which they’d organised and had delivered a couple of days previously. One of the A & P Builders team were there every morning, before we left for our day out, to discuss the progress and plans for that day. When we returned at the end of the day, we found the house securely locked, and the work completed as discussed. They also tidied up before they left. The team replaced our kitchen ceiling, and the ceiling of the landing at the top of the stairs. They plastered the new ceilings and all the walls in the kitchen, staircase, and upstairs landing. Paul’s plastering work was superb and, as we planned to paint everything, it was important for us to have a good finish to work with. We had our electrical circuit board replaced and relocated to the under stairs cupboard for convenience. We had additional sockets installed above the worktop, all light switches and old sockets were replaced, and spotlights were installed in the ceiling. Glen, A & P Builders kitchen fitter, did an excellent job fitting the units and appliances. There was a short break while we waited for the worktops to arrive and be fitted, and then the team returned to complete the works. Callum, with Darragh, connected the electrical appliances and installed the under-unit lighting. Anth laid the LVT flooring and fitted the new skirtings. Mark completed the plumbing work, including installing our new column radiator. Jack installed the new internal window and UPVC door. All the work was carried out to a very high standard, and the job was completed on time as agreed. We were very happy with the end results. The whole team were a great bunch of lads, and we were quite sad to say our goodbyes once they’d finished the job. We would certainly use A & P Builders again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
