We needed to replace some joists in our kitchen which had been previously needed repairing and had been bodged and left resting on a basement wall which we wanted to remove. We had gone to other companies for quotes but were told would be better done in an unoccupied property. Luckily, I contacted Qazi Builders. They responded quickly and gave us a more than fair quote. The job was completed in just one day, with no disruption to our daily life, and they tidied up before leaving. Our building journey started when me and my family decided it was time to fully renovate our family, (my childhood) home. After searching for a few builders online and in my local area, I came across “Qazi Builders”. I contacted 5 builders in total by phone who all came to the property to assess it; however the reason I chose “Qazi” was that the phone was answered promptly and I spoke to the co-owner who told me he was on site working at someone’s property and will call me back later to discuss my requirements for the renovation. He called me back in due course and made an arrangement to come out to my parents house and he came on time. As I showed him around the house I told him what I was wanting. As he observed each room in turn, he also gave me his ideas and opinions such as I wanted the kitchenette to turn into a shower room and the dining room to turn into a kitchen. His suggestion was it’s best to put a “wetroom” instead, which I didn’t think of at all. Out of all the other builders that I called out to assess the house they just agreed with what I wanted and didn’t make any suggestions and as they are builders which come from that trade you would expect they give you some advice. With this it made “Qazi” stand out the most from the rest of the builders. I checked out their website whilst researching about them and also asked if it was ok if I could come and see their current work, it was a property in BD5 where they were installing a “wetroom” and from there I actually got to see their work in action. This gave me more ideas and the confidence to use their services. I asked for a quote and we discussed how the procedure works for payments, keys and the renovation steps. Out of all the others builders; when the payments were discussed all of them wanted money upfront apart from “Qazi” who said he was fine to receive money after the first week of work had been done. This is what made me choose them as I felt aporetic in giving money before any work had started. I told the co-owner my personal circumstances; such as my availability to be at the house; as of school run and work commitments. They took this in hand and soon work started. They worked around my schedule and were very understanding with a lot of patience. From moving out, to storing our belongings in storage, skip job, they removed the wallpapers, flooring of lino and carpet, ripped out the bathroom, kitchenette and two chimney breasts to make adequate space for better usage. Communication had been key throughout their work from real calls, WhatsApp messages, video calls, email and face-to-face. Especially when I was purchasing the bathroom and all the items I needed for this room; such as the bath, bath taps, sink, sink taps, toilet, cistern, toilet button, side panel of the bath, shower, mirror, tiles, adhesive, grout, glue, ceiling panels, flooring etc. This also applied to the kitchen. They have been really professional, fast, having excellent quality of goods and brilliant service. They went the extra mile for me with some things in the house they decided to put that I didn’t even have to ask them to add on as its common knowledge; floodlights outside the house, electric foot heater in the kitchen and LED lights for the stairs however most importantly two extra steps outside of the front door. Finally I felt very content that they went the super extra mile when they suggested that they are willing to paint the home too. This showed me their full dedication.
