RC Construction York Builders

One of the worst builders I’ve ever encountered!! AVOID! He appears ok at first but quickly realises he is out of his depth with the work requested and instead of just saying that he was extremely rude and even swore at me. Thank goodness I went with another company, who have been a delight! Good builders exist - just not at this company!

What shockingly bad service! Two weeks ago contacted this company to arrange for them to come out and quote for quite a substantial house extension just outside Slingsby. Took the morning off work to meet ‘Ralph’ - who - when he hadn’t turned up at the allotted time - we phoned half an hour later. Gave us some cock & bull story about not being able to find us - and then said he wouldn’t do a job that far out of York anyway - adding - no builder from York would ! Well Mr Cater - I’m so glad you couldn’t find us - as you obviously can’t read a map never mind a set of building plans ! And your telephone manner was aggressive to say the least. You have just proved that folk really do have to wade through some muddy waters to find a decent builder. I feel we dodged a bullet !

RC Construction have been working with us to renovate and extend our future home over the last 6 months, and we would like to congratulate Ralph and his team for the commitment and standard of work achieved. Unexpected additional work and repairs have been absorbed and completed without delay, all from a very obliging and skilled workforce.

Ralph is undertaking a complete remodelling and extension of a bungalow for us, and we can’t speak highly enough of the quality of his work and the invaluable advice he’s able to give us. His workers do a great job and always leave the site clean and tidy. He’s also project managing the work and keeps us in the loop with all progress. He’s also flexible to last minute changes. Brilliant job.

Lousy customer service he made a mess of my porch flat roof and cracked a tile in the process he wouldn't replace it said it was like that before he started I have photos of before and after can show anybody these photos. He took a line of tiles off above the flat roof and has left them off it looks very odd and not finished. I've rung him today he's told me not to ring again he's not coming back. Shocking abrupt man definitely one to avoid there's no aftercare service..more than willing for anyone to have a look at the job Ralph has done..as an update Ralph has phoned me at 10.40am saying he's sending me a solicitors letter for defamation of character and I'm getting no refund he won't come back and finish the job has removed a line of tiles I want back and refuses to give them back. The reason for this is because I've wrote on here a negative review I only did that because he told me not to ring again and hung up the phone. I have never had to give anyone negative feedback on any site and never been treated so appallingly by anyone i wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.

I just wanted to say a massive Thankyou to Ralph and Nigel for the building works to my kitchen. The work was carried out quickly and to a very high standard, nothing was too much trouble for them. I now have a lovely big kitchen and a downstairs toilet and workmen I can use in the future and recommend to friends and family as reliable and friendly and excellent at their jobs. So happy with it all and can’t wait to start upstairs lol xx
