Our flat roof on a ground floor extension built by sturdy build has completely failed and needs to be replaced. The extension is under 10 years old, trade bodies and other builders provide warranty from 10-30 years for roofs, not Sturdy Build which says 2 years. My insurance company find this highly irregular for the type of building work I paid for. I’m left with a significant expense to replace the roof which has leaked from day 1. Even SB staff told me it’s not a good roof and they don’t use that material anymore.

Ed came over to look at a property that we were thinking of buying, and gave us detailed information and professional advice, which in the end made us change our mind about the purchase. I wish we'd contacted him sooner! Very quick to reply, friendly and knowledgeable, we'll definitely be in touch again if we need an opinion or work done.

SturdyBuild recently completed a kitchen extension on my house (amongst other works that I kept requesting to add on!). The team were professional, approachable, and really easy to communicate with. I was consulted on all aspects and kept updated throughout the process, and the extension itself is beautiful — it blends seamlessly with the original structure and has transformed the way I use the space. One of the things that was most impressive was their team's ability to solve problems quickly and creatively. I asked Sturdy Build to design an extension to my end-of-terrace 1950s house. Ed inspires confidence from the first meeting: he is helpful, explains technical matters carefully and clearly – and is extremely patient. I had no experience of this sort of project but he looked at my ideas, suggested how they could be developed, then Darren drew up the plans. I was very pleased with the result. Ed and the SturdyBuild team undertook a full house renovation on our 1930s semi in Cambridge. This included a loft conversion, new kitchen and bathrooms and an energy efficiency upgrade - adding external insulation, underfloor heating and installing an air-source heat pump. Ed managed the whole process from design, through build and completion. They did a fantastic job. The communication was great throughout the build, with Ed and Craig talking us through different options from big (e.g. which heating system will work best for us?) to small (e.g which way should this door open?) The whole team were a pleasure to work with, as were all the other trades Ed brought in (plasterers, electricians, plumbers, renderers etc) All building work is of a high quality, with great care taken over even the tiniest details. We are very happy with our newly-renovated house and would strongly recommend SturdyBuild to anyone looking for a brilliant team of builders.

Last year we had a rear single storey extension (including new kitchen fitting and adding a downstairs toilet), and a new front porch, and used SturdyBuild for both the planning and construction. The design phase with Ed was very straightforward and he was great at both clearly explaining and handling the various tasks involved in the planning, and therefore taking the stress out of the process for us! When it came to the build, his team were brilliant too; friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The were always punctual and accommodating to our needs, which was appreciated as we were working from home a lot of the time.
