The work Nick, Jack, and the whole team did for me was perfect. The plasterer, joiner, painter, electrician, everyone did such a great job I constantly get compliments from friends and family on the quality craftsmanship. I felt at ease throughout the process as the project manager kept me updated on progress and who would be coming and for what. The clean up job afterwards was a great, unexpected surprise too. I couldn’t be happier with the result and recommend this company to anyone looking to elevate their home.

Had a, what you can call- an eye opening… experience with Jack. He quite pushy from the start to the point i considered rude, then took ages to send a quote that was nearly double what another local company charged. Worse still, a different builder pointed out that what I originally wanted wasn’t actually safe to do and helped me adjust the plans. Fair enough—but why didn’t NGU mention this? NGU seemed happy to push ahead with something that apparently couldn’t be done? Really makes you question their integrity and whether they are only in this for the money? Can’t recommend them at all. Get a second opinion if you’re considering using them. Total waste of time even getting in contact with them.

Our project was not straightforward as it involved part demolition and an extension/re-build of a complex older building on a site with very little outside space, limited vehicular access and close neighbours. Our Community Centre is a busy place with a Community Coffee Shop and many other activities which needed to continue undisturbed, as far as possible. The NGU team rose to this challenge admirably, delivering our new community space inline with the committed schedule and with a quality finish. All NGU staff and contractors were respectful of our staff and customers at all times and did their best to keep the work area clean and tidy. Communication was always excellent with useful weekly email reports provided and with good availability to discuss aspects of the build when required. We have no hesitation in recommending NGU to others, particularly if your site is complex or difficult - or even if it easy!

NGU recently completed my garage conversion into a room with an ensuite shower room. They were very good and were there on time every day. A timetable was emailed to keep me informed of what to expect the following week. I also was able to message the project manager Matt with any queries I had. Matt was very conscientious and alleviated any concerns that popped up. All the contractors were experts in their field and were always polite and friendly. I would use them again, if need be, as I know I will get the work completed quickly and to a high standard. Invoices are sent out in stages as work progresses and any additional works are always agreed beforehand. I find them very flexible too with regards to any changes you want along the way. I am very pleased with my new space, thank you to Jack and the team.

NGU recently completed this annex flat/home office conversion for us. This involved updating an outbuilding at our house to domestic building reg's and adding an new extension to it at the same time. In the same project they also extended our main house to add extra bedroom and bathroom space. Jack was extremely helpful and pro-active in exploring the options to plan the project while we applied for planning permission and the subsequent quotes provided were clear and well presented. When the work started the whole project was well controlled and managed by Matt who kept us in the picture on week to week plans which was appreciated. The NGU building team really cracked on with the work, were very considerate, professional and polite throughout the whole time. Even our neighbors commented on how clean and organized they kept the site. Inevitably as the original house is old we ran into a few unexpected challenges as the work progressed but we found the NGU did their best to overcome these quickly and as cost effectively. Overall we are very pleased with the results and I would highly recommend NGU if your looking for a complete solution to your building project.

From start to finish Jack and Matt at NGU listened to the view we had for open plan living, to bring light into our home. Arranging a temporary kitchen in the garage enabling us to stay in the house. The ground crew were superb and worked incredibly hard, all polite and considerate. Minimising disruption as far as practical. Electricians, plumbers and plasterers all helpful, provided advice and discussed all options. Full of praise for the kitchen fitter, who went above and beyond, staying late to complete the job. All left our home clean and tidy at the end of each day. Would highly recommend.

We recently had an extension, underfloor heating, a new kitchen, and a small cloakroom WC installed under the stairs. We have been very impressed with NGU and all the various tradesmen they used during the project. The updates on progress from Matt were greatly appreciated, along with the valuable suggestions and improvements throughout the project. All the staff were extremely friendly and kept the site clean throughout the development. We would 100% recommend them and were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the whole experience was, thanks to such a great team.
